Across Australia, we know that many men are often reluctant to focus on their health and wellbeing and don’t access health programs and services. Reasons vary but often they think their condition is not serious enough, they are too busy, it is a waste of time or they will be seen as weak. But having good health and taking care of yourself is incredibly important, including for men of all ages.
That’s why the City of Playford has created a range of programs specifically aimed at creating environments where men feel comfortable to take charge of their own health and wellbeing.
The programs also provide a space for men to enjoy their hobbies, give back to their community and make new connections and friends.

In addition to the programs in the brochure, the Over 50’s Men’s Monthly Outing also meets on the last Friday of every month. This program is usually busy, so bookings are essential.
If you would like to know more about any of the men’s programs - The Men’s Shed, Northern Railway Men, Men’s Space, Grenville Men’s Talking Health Group or the Men’s Monthly Outing – please call Community Services Men's Wellbeing Worker, Michael Evans on 8256 0103.
When we talk about being healthy, we’re not just referring to physical health, but also good mental health. The City of Playford has lots of programs and activities available to help people have a positive mind. This includes being mindful, which is about taking the time to be in the moment and enjoy the things around you.
