Nuisance animals

The City of Playford understands nuisance animals can be annoying to neighbours and the community.

Investigations about nuisance animal can be lengthy and difficult to resolve. Before Council can begin an investigation, the level of the nuisance must be determined and documented. This can by completing the following:

Nuisance dogs

Investigations about barking and nuisance dogs can be lengthy and difficult to resolve. The law allows dogs to bark but not to bark persistently.

A formal complaint must be lodged to start this process: Nuisance dog complaint

Nuisance cats

Nuisance cat complaints can only be investigated if the address of where the cats are kept can be identified.

If you are unsure of the nuisance cat’s address and the cat is unidentified (no collar with owner contact details or no M in the ear indicating it is microchipped) please contact the Animal Welfare League on 8256 0000 to discuss cat cage hire to assist in addressing the issue.

To start the investigation process you will be required to lodge a formal complaint here: Nuisance cat complaint
