- $44,000 available for community groups in Playford
Non-profit community organisations, groups and associations within the City of Playford are being encouraged to apply to claim part of $44,000 from Council as part of its Community Development and Event Grant Funding.
Applications are now open for round two of grant funding, which is open to non-government and non-profit organisations to assist with specific projects or community events.
City of Playford Mayor, Glenn Docherty, is calling on community organisations, groups and associations to put their hand up for the funding.
“This funding can make a really big difference to local organisations so I encourage groups to apply,” Mayor Docherty said.
“Grants are available to groups that are looking to develop a project or host an event, exhibition or performance of some type.
“Community-led initiatives and events are vital to making our city a vibrant and exciting place to live and we want to continue to support this great work.”
With $44,000 available in this round of grants, funding is available to groups with specific plans to activate community spaces, support the arts, physical activity and health and wellbeing, or developing locally based events the whole community can enjoy.
Previous recipients have included the South Australian Bangladeshi Community Association which used funding to support the hosting of 2022 Mother Language Day and the Northside Boxing Club, which through Council support, was able to establish a female-only self defence program.
Applications for Round 2 of the 2021/22 Community Development and Event Grant category opened on Monday, 17 January 2022 and will close on Friday, 25 February 2022.
Email or phone support is available to groups looking to submit an application. This, and all further information about the grants can be found at www.playford.sa.gov.au/grants
