- Award winners are living life to the fullest
Three of Playford’s most inspiring residents were recognised on Friday night at the 2021 Living Life to the Fullest Awards.
Dianne Martin, Kathy Simmonds and Ron Tailor were each presented with a Living Life to the Fullest trophy at a gala event held at the Grenville Hub, Elizabeth. The awards celebrate people, 60 years and over, who represent positive ageing in their daily lives, while challenging stereotypes often associated getting older.
The winners all demonstrate a positive mindset, are brave and bold and understand the importance of living a life that is vibrant, fun and fulfilling.
Dianne Martin received her award in recognition of the time she contributes to her community, including volunteering at fitness classes, as a driver for Home Assist and more recently as a facilitator the Mindset for Life project.
Kathy Simmonds lives life with gusto and inspires others to do so through her active lifestyle, which includes skydiving at the age of 65.
91-year-old Ron Tailor was recognised for not only being a support for his neighbours, but continuing to be fit and energetic, lifting weights and riding his bike as part of a regular fitness regime.
Congratulations to all the award winners and thank you for sharing your positive stories of ageing with the Playford community.
