It’s time to save the date for the biggest FREE barbecue breakfast in Playford this Australia Day.
Following the bacon and egg sanga, get ready to do the Kangaroo Hop with one of Australia’s most popular kids entertainers, Peter Combe, taking to the stage.
City of Playford Mayor said it is set to be one of the largest Australia Day events across the State.
“Our Australia Day celebrations attract crowds of up to 5,000, thanks to an amazing line up of entertainment and service group participation cooking the free barbecue breakfast,” Mayor Docherty said.
South Australian icon, Andrew “Cosi” Costello, will host this year’s celebration, which will see the juicy juicy green grass of Fremont Park come to life with acts including Circus Element’s The Griffini Show, Mr Oopy, Wasabi and more.
Cosi will be joined on stage by another local legend and the City of Playford’s Australia Day Ambassador, Dr Deane Hutton.
Dr Hutton is known for his work as a science presenter on television shows such as the Curiosity Show, Hey Hey It’s Saturday and The New Inventors, as well as a teacher, lecturer and writer.
There will be plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy with a giant sandpit for those sandcastle creations, daredevil rides, face-painting and market stalls.
Playford’s Australia Day festivities celebrate its people and multicultural values featuring local entertainment and the Australia Day Awards.
“It is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on our local champions who dedicate their time to the community, whether it is an individual, community group or initiative, or sports club,” Mayor Docherty said.
“We will also welcome more than 100 new Australian citizens who now call the City of Playford to mark the celebration.”
Come on down to Fremont Park, Elizabeth – Sunday 26 January, 2020, from 8am to 12noon.
