- Constructing connections with local schools
Forming connections with local schools is important at the City of Playford and two of Council’s Strategic Projects and Assets team members recently visited St Patrick’s Technical College.
Council’s Strategic Projects and Assets manager Thornton Harfield and Roads and Stormwater manager Scott Rodda recently visited the Edinburgh North-based technical college campus for a tour of the purpose-built facility.
The college’s principal Danny Deptula said he wanted to meet with Council to build its local connections.
“We wanted to introduce ourselves and discover how we could work together to create pathways and opportunities in the civil construction space,’’ Mr Deptula said.
“We are working with the Civil Contractors Federation of South Australia to introduce civil construction opportunities for our students and we know local governments play a huge role in the industry.’’
