Following extensive community engagement in 2024, the City of Playford has released its draft Strategic Plan for final consultation. Shaped by the ideas shared by our community, this is the opportunity to review the draft plan and make sure we’ve got it right.

Mayor Glenn Docherty said the draft plan reflects the community’s insights and ideas, with over 790 people sharing their aspirations with Council during last year’s initial engagement.

“We’ve listened closely to our community and this draft plan is the result of those conversations,” Mayor Docherty said.

“Now we’re asking residents, businesses and community groups to take a look at the plan we have drafted, and make sure it reflects what has been shared.”

“Playford’s future depends on the decisions we make today, and we want to make those decisions together.”

The draft Strategic Plan 2025–2028 outlines Council’s priorities over the next four years. It focuses on strengthening the city’s foundations while also fostering deeper connections with and between our community.

“The draft plan has four central themes that will guide our work over the next four years,” the Mayor said. “We will continue to build our foundations by improving safety and accessibility and lifting city appearance. We will also build connections by fostering collaboration and activating and facilitating welcoming community spaces and events.”

Mayor Docherty encouraged the community to have their say through the range of opportunities on offer.

“One of the most powerful ways you can make the future of Playford yours, is by getting involved,” he said.

Engagement on the draft Strategic Plan 2025-2028 is open from Thursday 27 March until Thursday 24 April. Ways to share your views are outlined below.
