- Get ready to rock ‘n’ roll at Playford’s 2025 concert series
Playford’s Shedley Theatre is set to rock the roof off in 2025, announcing its Matinee program featuring unforgettable tributes to the music of legends past and present.
The Out of the Square program will run from February to June 2025 and present five acts at our local theatre, providing affordable and fun entertainment for music lovers.
The Shedley Theatre is known as a vibrant heartbeat for the city, providing a place of creativity and connection for our residents and the wider community.
Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty is delighted that another exciting Matinee program will hit The Shedley Theatre’s stage next year.
“Access to local entertainment plays an important role in our community. It provides a positive experience for residents and an opportunity to gather with friends and family to enjoy music,” Mayor Docherty said.
“An incredible lineup of musicians are choosing to perform in our city and I urge the community to support the concerts by securing their ticket!”
First up, is a show for Elvis enthusiasts - Songs & Stories Up Close & Personal at 11am on Monday 10 February. A combination of rockabilly, gospel, blues and country, Andy Seymour will share the captivating stories from one of history’s most talented musicians.
The timeless songbook of Peter Allen will be explored by Helpmann award winner Michael Griffiths at 11am on Monday 17 March and feature classics such as Tenterfield Saddler, I Go To Rio and I Still Call Australia Home.
The emotions and spirit of John Denver will be performed by John Raymond at 11am on Monday 14 April. This masterful storyteller will captivate the audience with beautiful ballads such as Sunshine on My Shoulders and Annie’s Song, through to foot-stomping tunes, Rocky Mountain High and Grandma’s Featherbed.
For those who love Australian singalongs, a special performance of Aussie Anthems will be presented by Dino Jag at 11am 12 May. Songs from Cold Chisel, Little River Band, John Farnham and INXS will undoubtedly deliver the heart and soul of Australian music.
The final show on the calendar is Rock & Roll Journey by John Wood and Dave Allen at 11am on Monday 16 June. This extravaganza will provide 70 minutes of unforgettable rock music and include a dialogue from John throughout the show. The performance will feature a video backdrop and deliver a not to be missed show.
