- Help shape our Sports Facility Strategy
Sport plays an important part in the lives of many people in the Playford community. Whether playing, volunteering or spectating, sport improves connection, builds skills and creates friends for life.
Council’s role is to not only support clubs, but to provide, maintain and upgrade sports facilities across the city.
To make sure our community has access to the courts, ovals, pitches and club rooms it needs, the City of Playford is preparing a new Sports Facility Strategy. It is a long-term planning document that will not only identify facility requirements for sport in Playford, but provide guidance on how to best respond to potential changes such as participation rates and trends in sport.
As we develop the plan, we want to hear from our community about the issues and opportunities for our sports facilities, as well as your ideas for the future. Hearing from our community is important to ensure the strategy we develop best responds to your needs.
While representatives from clubs and associations have been directly invited to share their views, ideas and feedback from the wider community is equally important. Anyone with an interest in sport is encouraged to participate in our survey.
We have also developed a handy discussion paper, which is a good place to start if you’re looking to understand more about sports facilities in Playford, why we plan for sports facilities and trends in sports. You can find it on our Engagement Hub page here.
Engagement runs from Tuesday 07 June until Friday 08 July, 2022. The input we gather will help Council prepare the draft Sports Facility Strategy. The community will have the chance to comment on the draft strategy before it is finalised.
