- Local business partnership benefits
Local businesses are set to benefit from a new partnership announced today between Business SA and the City of Playford’s Stretton Centre.
Under the ‘Playford Business Growth Program’, businesses with up to 100 staff who can demonstrate a plan to grow will be eligible to apply for a fully-subsidised Business SA Membership – including the benefit of access to key advisory services.
Additionally:
- all businesses based in the City of Playford can access one free 30-minute phone consult with the Business SA team
- for the first time, Business SA’s Business Accelerator Program will take place onsite at the City of Playford’s Stretton Centre
- two start-up businesses will also be supported via 12 months of workshop and mentoring programs – with announcements to come later in the year.
City of Playford Mayor, Glenn Docherty says that Council is thrilled to be able to offer additional support to local businesses:
“We are excited by the opportunities that this Business SA partnership will provide to local businesses – particularly to be able to attend business accelerator training right here in the City of Playford.”
“This pilot program to complement the existing business support services already available for free through the Stretton Centre.”
“Access to the Business Advice Hotline will be a gamechanger for many businesses. Being able to pick up the phone and speak to an expert in compliance, accounting or award rates is just so important for growing
businesses. Simply, it makes it easier for them to make decisions and get back to focusing on their business.”
“We’re really confident that this program will help to not only support current jobs within the City of Playford, but also help put businesses in a position where they feel they are ready to hire more people.”
Business SA Chief Executive Martin Haese said that as Adelaide’s northern suburbs are becoming an increasingly important part of the South Australian economy, this partnership has come at the opportune moment:
“With the Northern Connector now completed and the Regency to Pym project’s completion date imminent,
businesses based in Playford have never been able to reach new customers faster. This program will help them to scale up and meet demand.”
“For us, having a strong partner in the north is really important. It’s one of the fastest growing areas in terms of population, and with new residents imminently brings new opportunities for businesses.”
