Secure a budget-friendly hamper for this festive season.

Planning for the busy Christmas period is in full swing for many families and to help make it easier, Healthy Food Co is once again offering affordable Christmas Hampers packed with goodies for families to enjoy across the festive season.

For close to 30 years, Healthy Food Co volunteers have prepared hampers for the community, to not only help take the stress out of food shopping in the lead up to Christmas, but to help ease financial strain during the festive season.

Hampers are just $100 and include plenty of family-favourites, including apple pie, custard and Tim Tams, as well as fresh food and a ready-to-cook chicken for Christmas Day.

Equally as important, they’re designed to be accessible to everyone with flexible payment options available. Hampers can be secured with a $20 deposit until 1 November, with full payment due by 30 November.

Healthy Food Co volunteer, Mary Lazell, has volunteered at the Smithfield store for five years and helps pack Christmas Hampers for the community.

“It helps many families across our community and recently, a father bought six hampers to give to his children,” Mary said.

“Word really gets around about the hamper and how it is worth having.

“It is satisfying to be a part of it because we are helping families out. There is a real need for us, which is nice to know.”

City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty encouraged the community to plan their Christmas period early and take advantage of the accessible service.

“As cost-of-living pressures continue to impact family budgets, the Christmas period can often become a pressure point,” said Mayor Docherty.

“I encourage families to take advantage of securing their favourite foods at a great price – and without the busy supermarket lineup too.

“It is an affordable option and helps provide families with food across the Christmas holidays and help ease the financial burden.”
