- Planning consent approved for Playford Innovation Hub
City of Playford’s Council Assessment Panel (CAP) has approved an application for planning consent from Pelligra Group for a commercial office and innovation hub known as ‘Playford Innovation Hub’ on Main North Road.
The proposed eight-storey building will offer space for entrepreneurial start-ups, high growth companies and accelerator programs, as well as offer a café and landscaped forecourt.
Nestled within the heart of the CBD, the Playford Innovation Hub will complement existing services and offerings within the wider precinct, contributing to a corridor of activity where people can stay and play longer in Playford.
Last night’s decision of CAP granted Pelligra Group approval for the design, appearance and location of the Playford Innovation Hub. The CAP consists of five members; four independent members and one Councillor.
City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty said the approval marks an important milestone for the proposed large-scale development.
“This is another step towards Council’s vision of a revitalised CBD,” the Mayor said. “Our community has told us that a dynamic CBD, where they can access services and offerings all in the one place, is important to them.
“We also know that a strong and diverse economy is important for our community and the Playford Innovation Hub will provide a home for existing and new businesses which means more employment opportunities in Playford,“ said Mayor Docherty.
Pelligra Group will now progress to structural design and building rules consent followed by development approval for the works.
The City of Playford continues to work with developers on other opportunities throughout the Elizabeth CBD to further diversify and enhance the offerings within the precinct.
