- Playford library's summer of fun announced!
The City of Playford Library Service summertime schedule is set to provide families with endless fun across the summer holidays, with craft sessions to action-packed events lined up.
The much-loved library service has two branches, located at the Playford Civic Centre, Elizabeth, and at the Stretton Centre, Munno Para, both offering a long list of programs and events throughout the year.
Starting in December at the Civic Centre Library, a whimsical workshop to create a Wombat Pencil Holder will be held on 18 December from 10am-11am for children aged 5+. The cost will be $2.
Also in December, the library heads to The Precinct, Smithfield Plains, for budding archaeologists to enjoy a Dig-a-Dino Picnic on 19 December from 10.30am-12.30pm. This event is best suited to 3+ aged children and will cost $5 to participate. Families are encouraged to bring along a picnic and get digging to excavate their very own dinosaur.
Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty is delighted Playford’s young people have the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled summer break with activities in their own area.
“Providing our community access to activities is an important part of what we do. Seeing our community get involved and come together to enjoy these events is such a positive outcome,” Mayor Docherty said.
“Our library service has always been a favourite within the community, with its regular weekly programs and other events, it is always attracting plenty of interest.”
