Don't miss out on Playford's exciting school holiday program!

A jam-packed activity program will feature at Playford’s much-loved community spaces in the coming weeks, helping to provide families with a cost-effective solution to keeping busy during these school holidays.

The program launches on Monday 14 April as creativity and sustainability collide in a $5 hands-on workshop with Moveit at The Precinct. Children aged 5 to 12 years old can attend from 1.30pm-3pm and to get the most out of the day, families can join in some energetic fun at the John McVeity Centre from 4pm with a movement session.

The sustainability session is set to provide young people an opportunity to explore the exciting possibilities of upcycling and nature-based crafting, to create eco-friendly treasures to take home. This workshop encourages imaginative play, eco-conscious thinking and hands-on creativity.

Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty is delighted Playford families have the opportunity to enjoy a fun-filled Easter break with plenty of activities to engage with in their own area.

“Providing our community with access to family-friendly activities is an important part of what we do. Making sure our community participates in group activities is not just great for overall wellbeing, it provides a boost in community morale,” Mayor Docherty said.

“This year we have one of our best programs on offer. From painting sessions to interactive music or acrobatics, there is absolutely something for everyone to enjoy.

“I encourage families to take advantage of the free and low-cost activities which Council have put on these school holidays. The program encourages creativity, problem-solving and social skills, while also providing valuable quality time together.”

For families with kids and teens who love to dance, Come & Try Acrobatic, Hip Hop and Commercial Jazz classes will be available to help young people master exciting tricks, build strength, flexibility and coordination. Bringing high-energy moves to life with dynamic choreography inspired by music videos and street performances, join in the fun on 17 and 24 April at JMC.

A big drawcard on this year’s program is Wiggle & Giggle who are offering a fun-filled program to children with disabilities and their families. Held at JMC from 10.30am to 11.30am, the session encourages children to get creative and explore the world through music, movement, singing, percussion, role play, relaxation, language and key word sign language.

With more than 15 activities locked in across the program, be sure to book a spot and try something new by visiting playfordwellbeinghub.eventbrite.com.au or contact The Precinct on 8480 0181 or JMC on 8480 0100.
