- Your guide to school holiday activities this October
Parents and kids! We’ve got you covered for fun, adventure and play during the October School Holidays. Choose from nature walks and yoga to basketball or making slime!
There are activities happening right across the City of Playford over two jampacked weeks. See below for information about the school holiday programs from the Playford wellness hub (the precinct and JMC) and the Playford Library.
For bookings or any questions visit John McVeity Centre (182 Peachey Rd, Smithfield Plains) call 8480 0100 or email jmc@playford.sa.gov.au
Here in Playford we are blessed with an abundance of open spaces.
Whether you are looking for somewhere for a family picnic, a cool new playground for the kids to explore (there are more than 100 of them!) or just somewhere to relax and appreciate nature, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
We've created a guide with 12 recommended places across the city for you to get outside and explore.
With Daylight savings happening on Sunday 2 October, the water play feature at the Playford Alive Town Park will be making a splash soon. The water play is set to re-open on Tuesday 4 October. Bring the kids down for some free water play fun!
Calling all detectives! We need your help!
There are clues hidden in several parks around the City of Playford and if you find them all before the end of school holidays, you win a prize!
All detectives go into the draw to win 1 of 3 Lego Vidiyo sets.

Yoga makes confident kids!
According to the Aussie Childcare Network, “when children practice yoga it increases their confidence, builds concentration and strengthens growing bodies. For children with behavioural issues, yoga can improve their impulses in a positive direction and provides them with an outlet as a way to manage their behaviour”.
