A quiet suburban reserve in Davoren Park, Pete Smith Reserve honours a SAPOL patrol officer who spent the majority of his career working from the Elizabeth Police Station. In his 18 years working in the district, Pete Smith was renowned for his capacity to relate to the local residents, especially those with particular needs, and was always willing to go the extra mile. He led by example to younger police personnel, displaying patience and being unflappable, but also being firm when firmness was required.

Today, the park name in his honour is comprised of a mid-sized grassy play area, basketball half-court and a playground suitable for younger children (zero to five years of age).
